| Parents interested in learning more about
the school are invited to contact the Admissions Director. During
the enrollment process, parents may visit classes and will meet
with the Admissions Director to discuss their expectations for their
child and to learn more about the school and its philosophy.
Parent involvement is essential to Peninsula
School, as is the value and reward of child-directed learning. We
believe in hands-on learning for parents as well as children. Peninsula
requires a commitment to participation in the activities of the
school. This may include volunteering in the classroom, assisting
in fund raising, participation in annual clean-up days, and working
at the Craft Fair, Spring Fair or Auction, events which are held
annually. These activities provide an opportunity to support the
school and to establish bonds with the rest of the Peninsula Community.
Peninsula's ideal of the dual emphasis on
individual development and social consciousness, as well as
the importance of valuing and enjoying one's life, has become
even more relevant and urgent today.
Above all, Peninsula offers children the
opportunity to be children: to play, to grow, to climb and swing
and build, to create, all in a warm and supportive environment that
encourages trust, cooperation, responsibility and participation.
Peninsula School does not discriminate in
enrollment of students or hiring of staff on the basis of race,
color, creed, national or ethnic origin, age, sex, political belief,
sexual orientation or marital status.
